What’s the Big Idea?
The modern environmental movement is nearly 50 years old, but did landmark legislation of the 1960s and ‘70s prepare us for what was to come? How has public perception of environmental issues shifted? How will climate change alter the environmental calculus? And how have those formative laws marginalized communities in the intervening decades? IJNR proposes a series of 6-8 Institutes -- over the next several years and across the country -- examining the state of environmental law, the integrity of our infrastructure, the social and economic ramifications of natural resource issues, and looming threats in a rapidly changing world.
